What is “Bespoke“ hair colouring?
The true definition of Bespoke = Made for a particular customer.
At True Hairdressing, your transformation begins with a comprehensive consultation. At this stage, we analyse your hair and see what we have before us. We ask ourselves, is there already colour in the hair? What natural shade is the hair? Is the hair damaged or weak? Only then do we discuss your desired look.
This is the same as a tailor taking all your measurements and helping you choose an item of clothing that would work with and enhance those measurements. Unlike a tailor, we cannot change the fabric (your hair). We need to work with what is already there by colouring the hair to the desired colour and tailoring a haircut for you.
Every change of colour is “bespoke” and requires excellent knowledge and skill. We use specialist techniques to remove any colour pigment before using our diverse colour tones to achieve your target look.
It’s important to understand that not everything is possible, and sometimes our job is to explain why your desired colour may not be achievable. For example, if your hair has been coloured very dark for many years, we know that the pigment will be tough to remove and will always look orange/ginger; therefore, it would not be wise to let you think that you will be blonde and we would suggest a softer warm brown. These are all discussions we would have with you before the process begins.
One of the best services we offer is the FREE consultation. It is at this stage that we discuss your options. We will request an allergy test, and we may also take “strand tests” to test colour. It’s important to note that you are not obligated to book the colour service. We provide our top advice, and you can decide your best option.
Some colouring can be labelled as a service, e.g. Full Head of Highlights, for a fixed price. However, when a complete change is afoot, we work out the time required for the service and quote a personalised price to you based on our hourly charge.
