How Hair Bonding Works
Technology and science abound in every area of our lives; hair is no different. One of the most significant advances in hairdressing is the arrival of “Bond Builders”, which cleverly rebuild the strength back into the hair fibre.
If you imagine the structure of your hair is like a ladder with rungs, when the hair is strong and undamaged, all of the rungs are solid and attached to both sides of the ladder. When the hair becomes damaged chemically or physically, including through heat, brushing, and treatment, some rungs break, and some become loose. Bond builders – the clue is in the name – rebuild the rungs! The main ingredient is Malic Acid, a natural compound. It forms a new link between the molecular bonds that make up the hair structure.
You will see Malic Acid advertised more and more in many retail products, but beware, the concentration of the Malic Acid (and therefore its effect) will vary.
At True, we use Wella Plex. It can be utilised as a stand-alone treatment or added to hair colour so that it begins to work as the colour processes. Wella is a major company at the forefront of hair science, and we have trusted them for many years to provide the quality we require.
This product will transform your crown if you have fine hair that breaks easily. Our clients have achieved fantastic results. Following regular treatments of Wella Plex and other bond building treatments, they have achieved hair that is fuller and more malleable.
